When is the best time to buy a new car (new models)
Thinking about purchasing a new vehicle? contemplating whether to wait for next year’s model or just settle for this years? when will the new Honda Civic model come out? the Lexus IS? the Nissan Xterra? VW Jetta?
This article will give you some insight on when you can expect your car’s maker to come out with a new model. You wouldn’t want to buy a brand new Acura TL late decemeber only to find out Acura is releasing their new TL model two months later.
Generally car models are updated every 5-6 years, Some examples could be Lexus IS 300, that same model was kept from 2000-2005, in 2006 Lexus released a new IS model.
There are no obvious differences between a 2000 Lexus IS and a 2004 Lexus IS, only real difference is the year it was sold. However the 2006 model is not only physically different, but also different under the car’s hood, for it has less horsepower and torque then the older model.
There are also other reasons to hold back on purchasing a car on a certain year. an example would be the Nissan Z series, every 10 years the Nissan Z comes out with their anniversary Z model, which comes with it’s perks, it is why 2008 and especially 2009 there was a large decrease in the sale of Z’s. Good things come to those who wait.
What month(s) is the best to purchase a car?
- December, end of the year! they won’t haggle and scam you as much since the year is almost over and they want to get one or two more sales before the year ends, plus the cars are practically a year old!
- September, prime month where dealers want to get rid of cars to make more room for new incoming cars!
